Why metadata matters

A photo can contain more information than what you see on screen.

📍 GPS location

Some photos contain latitude and longitude information that can reveal where the picture was taken.

📷 Camera details

EXIF can include the camera manufacturer, model, lens and shooting settings.

🕒 Dates & timestamps

Original capture and modification dates may remain inside the image file.

Frequently asked questions

Does removing metadata change the image?

The clean-copy option re-encodes the image using the browser Canvas API, which removes embedded metadata. Visual dimensions are preserved.

Will GPS information be removed?

Yes. Re-encoding to a fresh raster image removes EXIF/GPS metadata from the exported copy.

Is my original file changed?

No. The original file remains untouched. The tool creates a separate output copy.

Can I process many images at once?

Yes. Add multiple images, apply the selected action, then download each result or all results as a ZIP.

Does the website upload my photos?

No. The metadata inspection and clean-copy processing happen in your browser.
